As a Utah resident who has spent countless hours exploring the breathtaking landscapes of Southern Utah, I can confidently say that this short trip truly packs a punch. Not only will you discover one of Utah’s hidden gems, but you’ll also have the chance to experience Zion National Park, one of its crown jewels, making this adventure unforgettable!
Choosing where to Stay:
If you’re deciding which park you’d like easy access to, you’ll want to focus on these two incredible locations.
For those planning to explore Snow Canyon State Park, staying in St. George, Utah, at Red Mountain Resort is a fantastic choice. This resort not only offers stunning views of the park but also places you just minutes from its entrance. Additionally, the amenities are second to none. We especially loved the labyrinth and the private hiking trail on the property, which conveniently leads to the entrance of Snow Canyon State Park.

After a full day of adventure, the heated pools and hot tubs provide the perfect way to relax. To enhance your stay even further, book a rejuvenating massage at the spa or treat yourself to a world-class dinner at the resort’s on-site restaurant. It’s the ultimate retreat for nature lovers and luxury seekers alike!”

❄️🏜️ Snow Canyon State Park (@snowcanyonstatepark) is a must-visit destination! Start your day early and head into this tiny but mighty state park to experience its incredible natural beauty. Begin your adventure by hiking the Petrified Dunes, where you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views. Next, take some time to explore Jenny Canyon, a shallow but stunning slot canyon that’s perfect for a quick detour.
If you have extra time, consider venturing out to the Scout Cave Trail or the Butterfly Lava Flow Overlook, both offering unique perspectives of this diverse park. One of the highlights of our trip was renting e-bikes from @rampagerentalrepair. Cruising through the park at top speeds allowed us to enjoy a unique perspective and up-close views of the striking red rocks.

✨🏜️ Zion National Park, on the other hand, hardly needs an introduction. Consistently ranked among the top National Parks in the country, it’s an absolute gem. Located just an hour from St. George, Zion is well worth the drive. However, if you’d prefer to stay closer to Zion National Park, I recommend booking accommodations in the charming town of Springdale.

Unique Ways to Experience Zion National Park:
For a fresh perspective on Zion, I highly recommend renting e-bikes. This fun and eco-friendly way to explore the park allows you to see its iconic landscapes like never before. While there are many rental options, my go-to is Utah E-Bike Adventures. I’ve rented from them on two separate trips, and their service is always professional, easy, and affordable!

Saving the Best for Last!
I am thrilled to share with you the best glamping experience in all of Utah! Just 30 minutes from Zion National Park, Open Sky has quickly become my favorite place to stay. The romance and tranquility this luxurious location offers are truly unparalleled.
During our stay, we had the pleasure of dining at their onsite restaurant, Black Sage, and it was nothing short of magical. This five-star experience features locally sourced ingredients, thoughtfully prepared to create a culinary delight. After indulging in a delicious meal, you can stroll back to your private tent, where the relaxation continues. Spend the evening roasting marshmallows over the fire or unwinding with a glass of wine in your stunning copper bathtub.
In addition to its incredible accommodations, Open Sky provides a variety of activities to make your stay unforgettable. You can explore private hiking trails, enjoy kayaking adventures, or join in yoga and sound bath sessions.
